Pangkalpinang — To boost regional tourism promotion, the Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Office (Parbudkepora) of Babel is soon launching a breakthrough in the form of a travel guide.
According to the office’s head, represented by the Head of the Tourism Destination and Marketing Division, Irwanto, the guide is called the Exciting Travel Guide of a Thousand Charms of Babel, or abbreviated as Pentas Seribu Pesona Babel.
Pentas Seribu Pesona Babel is also the result of a Change Action in the Administrative Leadership Training (PKA) Batch I BKPSDM Babel 2026, which Irwanto participated in.
"The main goal is to promote tourism in Babel. It is an integrated, informative, and easily accessible travel guide for anyone," said Irwanto on Saturday (6/27/2026).
He said further that this action plan had previously been discussed and approved by the office’s head and other relevant parties. It was then designed by the office’s team. The initiator and team leader was Irwanto himself.
Irwanto also said that once the Pentas Seribu Pesona Babel is finalized, it could immediately be shared with stakeholders and the public. It’s hoped that it will attract tourists to visit Babel.
Irwanto further explained that it was in the form of a PDF and can be accessed through a QR code system.
“It contains profiles of the regencies/cities across Babel along with their tourist attractions, local culture, culinary, souvenirs, and hotels. It also includes an event calendar held in each area,” explained Irwanto.
The team will collaborate with various parties, both within Babel and outside the region to distribute the guide. This includes the Ministry of Tourism, tourism offices, mass media, communities, Babel’s community associations in various parts of Indonesia, tourism industry players such as travel agents, hotels, restaurants, tourism communities, and other institutions.
Irwanto hopes that it will spread information and encourage promotion of Babel’s tourism. "Finally, we hope that it will increase the tourist visit," concluded Irwanto.
